“At Mahonia, our mission is to celebrate nature, make beauty accessible and create an inspired, extraordinary customer experience through our design, environment and service,” says owner Bridget Davis. But that extraordinary customer experience doesn’t stop when you leave the shop. Mahonia’s ethereal flower arrangements and tranquil terrariums will bring you joy and peace every time you see them in your home or office. 

“Plants make people feel good! They beautify spaces and clean the air,” Bridget says.

A GREEN OASIS

Just as their plants can brighten up any space, Mahonia has been brightening up the NuLu neighborhood with its warm and soothing plant-filled storefront since 2016. The shop is a welcoming oasis that’s right-at-home in Louisville’s haven for local businesses. “We love that NuLu is made up of small, independent businesses,” Bridget says. “There is a friendly, supportive vibe here, and we love our neighbors.”

MORE THAN A PLANT SHOP

Though Mahonia began as a tiny floral and home boutique, it has since blossomed into a stunning sanctuary thanks to the support of the local community as well as Mahonia’s dedicated employees. “We are proud to be a woman-owned business,” Bridget says. “We believe in making feel-good, beautiful products accessible to all.” That mission has earned Mahonia a loyal fanbase, and it’s easy to see why customers keep returning to the beautiful and soothing environment filled with its high quality, unique, and gorgeous products. 

Mahonia offers fresh cut flowers, available by the stem, and their team also offers tailored floral arrangements and a selection of indoor plants. But if you’re feeling especially creative, you can visit their Build Your Own Terrarium Bar where the staff encourages you to create your own botanical masterpiece. If you’re having trouble finding inspiration, Mahonia also offers floral design classes where you can craft your own arrangement (with a little help from your friends).
