Founded by Nicole Burks and her fiancé Roberto Davila, the business began in 2019 when Burks, after getting sober, was looking for a way to stay busy. She came across a banana pudding cheesecake recipe on Facebook and decided to try making it. After sharing her creation with friends and family, the overwhelmingly positive response led to the birth of Big Nita’s Cheesecakes. What started as a home-based passion project quickly grew into a full-fledged business, culminating in the opening of their storefront in January 2023 on East Main Street. Today, Big Nita’s Cheesecakes is a staple in Louisville’s dessert scene, drawing in customers with its rich flavors, welcoming atmosphere, and inspiring backstory.
